I worked here years ago. I still remember the smell of the food and fresh paint. We woke up at 7 in the morning and helped our live-in chef prepare for the day. We had to wash the linen ourselves. Everyday was a trip to the store. We had to promote in person with limited resources. We started with nothing and turned the place around in a matter of months. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about that place, its food, and the people I worked with. That was in 2010-2011. I am sad to hear that it went down after I left. Screwy landlords, a business murdering local government, parking people, and internal conflict are surely to blame.

This place looks like a house. I've passed it often and saw the big sign in front advertising BBQ. Could I get some good old home-made BBQ at this place as it looks and as it's advertised. That's why me and my colleagues set off to try it one lunch. Dining here feels like a living room set up. It's not crowded by any means during a weekday lunch. Can't have an obvious bigger sign than that though. -=-Pulled Pork Sandwich-=- I was prepared for dryness here. Many places serve this too dry. Maybe that's how pulled pork naturally is, but only the greats get it right. At first glance at my lunch plate, it was already looking good. The pulled pork was falling out. I can't say it was the juiciest pulled pork, but it was still BBQ tasty and savory. Portions were good too for lunch. It wasn't an epic meal by any means but coupled with the friendly service I would not hesitate in coming back. Gotta try the ribs next.

It's away from Old Town and there's absolutely nothing there at night. Interior could use some updating. While we were eating, they began setting up for a salsa class in one of the dining rooms. odd? Yeah just a little bit. But thought it was a fun idea. One thing for sure they know how to make juicy, tender ribs and a mean Jamaican Jerk chicken salad. Service was excellent. Would I come back? Probably. And I'd even check out the salsa show.

I came here with the wife to Kevin C's toastmaster event(which was great by the way), and both the wife and I were hungry for some bbq afterwards. Kevin recommended the Jerk Chicken. It was a great choice. The chicken had some great spice, and the veggies were even spicier. The skin had some great flavor and the meat was off the chain, soaked with flavor. The wife decided on the brisket, which went well with baked beans and veggies. The food melted in your mouth, and it tasted like heaven. The staff is great, they were accommodating as we stayed past closing. Parking is a non issue, just park in their lot, plenty of room.

I've liked Hutch's very much when I've gone in the past, but sadly it had been a long time since I had visited, only because of the vast array of restaurants in the area. So, I went last Saturday evening and heard from the staff who greeted us that they had changed ownership and that one of the two former chefs was still there. I was glad to hear that at least one had remained. I must say the service was excellent. So welcoming and accommodating. It's nice when you can tell a restaurant really values it's customers. The place always seems a bit empty, which has always surprised me because the food is so good. I wonder if because of the location it's more of a lunch than dinner spot. But I think it's great for evening dinning, especially to watch games on their big screen TVs or to eat on the outside patio before sunset. They are in process of getting the beer/wine license so they didn't have a alcoholic drink menu yet, but they said that will be the case again shortly. We shared two dishes: the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Fish and Chips. The pulled pork sandwich was succulent and I just love their potato salad and cole slaw--neither are too sweet or saucy, but just perfect. The fish and chips plate was also tasty. Both fish and fries were crispy. When we have a cold beer to go along with it, all the better. I want to go back soon and order the pulled pork again. This time no sharing!

We went in for BBQ and changed our minds when we saw the Jamaican part of the menu. We started with plantain appetizers. Entrees: oxtail stew and goat curry, both with garlic roast potatoes. Dessert: peach cobbler, just out of the oven, and baked pear in tamarind sauce. All of it very, very good. The building itself is interesting and fun to look around. Service was excellent. You can watch the cooks in the open kitchen area if you like: it's very interesting, and they are deeply moved by compliments.

Located next to the Westin Hotel this cute little BBQ joint reminds me of a German pub on the inside. Apparently it was a residence at one time. I quit eating meat...what...yes...I quit eating meat but I can still review it. My husband ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich and he enjoyed it. We asked if they have spicy BBQ and she said they make their own sauce and it is a bit sweet but she could add some of the jerk seasoning with habaneros to take it up a notch. I had a salad with their homemade Italian dressing and I ate some of their toasted bread with butter and parm and dipped it in the spicy BBQ sauce and it was different but I really liked it...go try it! She gave a small amount of the jerk seasoning and I added it to my potato salad which made it SPICY...I love spicy and I add spice to most everything I eat. I don't know why they consider this a Jamaican place...they do have some but I would consider this a BBQ place first. If you are staying at the Westin just walk out the back door near the elevators and make a left and it is 15 feet away.
